TCCNJ Proudly Partners with the Peace Festival in Celebration of International Peace Day
The Turkish Cultural Center of New Jersey (TCCNJ) was honored to be a proud partner of The Peace Festival, hosted by the Peace Islands Institute in recognition of International Peace Day. This vibrant event serves as a celebration of unity and community spirit, bringing together people from all walks of life to promote peace, dialogue, and friendship in a joyful, diverse setting right here in the heart of New Jersey.
The festival kicked off with a relaxed 45-minute bike and walk event, encouraging participants to come together with family and friends to experience the beauty of our shared community. Following the walk, attendees enjoyed a lively array of stage performances, delicious food, and a variety of festivities that captured the spirit of togetherness and harmony.
International Peace Day, celebrated annually on September 21st, was established by the United Nations in 1981. This special day is dedicated to promoting global peace, focusing on the sustainable elimination of war and violence. The theme for 2024, “Cultivating a Culture of Peace,” underscores the importance of nurturing and sustaining a world where peace is valued and maintained.
