As Turkish Cultural Center NJ, we are serving dinner to people in need once a month thanks to the supports of our community. Our volunteer team is also ready to spare their personal times to help people all the time.

Our dinner was at 21th of September, 3:45 pm this month and we are happy to see the faces with our help

We are in cooperation with ‘Family Promise‘ to help the people of New Jersey in need. To do that, we are serving dinner in the space of Family Promise once every month. We cook our traditional foods and serve people with the help of our volunteer team.

Dialogue is the main course we seek as Turkish Cultural Center and this dialogue night was one of the good ones we had this year. We had our Turkish food ready and afterward had great dialogues with friends. There was this family you can watch below made our night even better with their beautiful songs. Don’t miss the joy of watching those 2 sweet girls singing and quarreling with each other.

We had an amazing night with friends in our center. It was our annual Ramadan dinner and we enjoyed the water marble art exhibit with the live Sufi music.

As usual, we had our annual Ramadan Dinner at Chart House, Weehawken with friends and families. It was a memorable night thanks to our American friends joined. Everyone joined had the chance to meet new people from the society or see the friends not having a chance to see for a while. We had our dinner with traditional and delicious Turkish foods and listened to the choir of the kids singing in many languages. Everyone loved the songs and joined with applause.

This is an event we have every year to celebrate Ramadan (the holy month) with our fellow Americans. We will have our guests for this dinner from all around New Jersey. As usual, we’ll enjoy the Turkish cuisine for the dinner, meet new friends, and listen to the speeches of our guests about the meaning of Ramadan and our friendship. This event is by invitation only!

Dear Friends,

As the Holy Month of Ramadan approaches we would like to invite you to attend an Iftar (fast breaking) Dinner with local Turkish-American host families around New Jersey area.

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast by abstaining from consuming water or food while the sun is out. Iftar – or fast breaking – dinners take place each night once the sun sets. This is an important time not only for those who participate in Ramadan because of their faith but also an important time for us to share our tradition with our friends from different backgrounds over delicious food and through lively conversation. It is truly a special time when people of all backgrounds come together and share in the Iftar experience, learning about different cultures and faiths in the process.

Even though we are a non-religious organization, over 90% of Turks are Muslim and we thus host Iftar dinners every year for the community during the Islamic Holy Month of Ramadan. If you attended our Iftar dinners in previous years, you are more than welcome to join us once again, we are more than happy to have you.

We thus very much hope to be able to host you and look forward to hearing back from you! Please RSVP at your earliest convenience.

Many thanks and warm regards,

Turkish Cultural Center NJ

P.S. We urge our guests to arrive one hour before the dinner/sunset time to meet with other guests. Since other professionals and community leaders from New Jersey area may join the dinner, it is a great opportunity to meet with people from different backgrounds before the dinner. This is also convenient for our guests who would like to leave right after the dinner.

If you have any food restrictions, please let us know. The family would be glad to prepare something just for you.

Some host families might request from you to take your shoes off before entering their homes. This is a tradition practiced by many communities, especially in Asia. In those instances, slippers or house-shoes will be provided.

Information about the host family, their address, phone number and professional affiliation will be shared with you as soon as we finalize the family matching process.

As Turkish Cultural Center, we feel the responsibility of giving back the society. As part of this feeling, we are organizing a dinner by the precious efforts of our volunteer team every month for people in need. We do partnerships with other community organizations for these dinners to find the right people who really need help. We dream of helping thousands of people in years and teach our children to keep doing this service during their lives.

Our dinner was at 13th of April, 3:45 pm this month and we are happy to see smiling faces with our help.

Turkish Cultural Center Passaic (TCC) hosted a friendly night filled with love in the Sufi way on February 10, 2018. Over sixty guests from diverse national, cultural, and religious background came together to share food and friendship at another TCC event: “Celebrating Love in Sufism.” Dinner that features Turkish cuisine deliciously prepared by TCC volunteers was followed by a presentation on Sufi approach to divine love, a whirling dervish performance, and spiritual songs. We are thankful to all the guests and TCC volunteers that always bring light to our events.

We had a wonderful night in the Chart House, New Jersey. Our guests were from all areas of the society; scholars, business people, officers and more. It was the Ramadan dinner but only another reason for us to meet our fellow American friends. We had our dinner with specially prepared Turkish foods and desserts. Then our guests shared their thoughts on the importance of living together in peace. As Turkish Cultural Center New Jersey, our goal is to build a united society in America with all the people from different roots. We put too much effort especially for Turkish people to integrate into the society in the best possible way. This dinner was another step to reach our goal and we believe it was a good one.

We appreciate our guests for joining this event and honoring us with their supportive talks. This is an event we do every year and we look forward to the next one.

We are hosting people in need every month with our partner ‘Family Promise’. We prepared our cultural Turkish foods for them and served with great pleasure. We meet our guests once a month at the location below. Let us know if you are interested in being a volunteer. It’s a wonderful feeling to help people in need and you should definitely consider doing so.
